News from AVAL , a social enterprise mentored by AVAG

'A brand by women for the benefit of women' - AVAL is a social enterprise that is making a positive difference in the lives of marginalised women. The brand is by women, for the benefit of women, and its mission is to empower women from diverse backgrounds through skill development in tailoring and crocheting, to enhance their quality of life.

To achieve this mission, AVAL regularly collaborates with national and international designers to create unique and trendy products. Recently, AVAL invited Kushbu, a designer and alumni of NID from Bombay, to create a fresh range of garments for women that combined traditional styles with modern aesthetics. Now our first-ever children’s collection is also available at the Anjali boutique in Auroville, another success story for AVAL.

The recent women’s line of products, which includes jumpsuits, playsuits, shorts, dresses, and short tops, was a great hit and received positive feedback from customers. Kushbu was pleased to contribute to upskilling women with contemporary designs and styles and support them to overcome technical hitches. Our team was also excited to learn new techniques and styles to enrich their skills.

This partnership highlights the potential for designers to work with local communities and support economic development while creating unique and culturally relevant products. AVAL's focus on skill development, coupled with its commitment to women's economic empowerment, is a testament to the power of entrepreneurship in creating a positive impact on society.
